Adventure in the mountains.

Yesterday Brandon and I went to Table Rock with his mother for a little afternoon adventure. When we first started the trail it felt pretty good. It was cool and shaded and pretty much no problem at all. Well, as we kept moving the trail eventually became a lot harder than we expected and eventually quit after about 45 minutes. Other than the heat, crowd, and lack of water down my throat, it was a wonderful experience. I wore my rainbows so I think I brought the wrong shoes as well, and of course Brandon didn't get enough sleep the night before but suddenly got a random burst of energy when we were hiking *tries not to grumble*. When we got back home we went swimming in his pool and played for about two hours, then we came back inside and enjoyed some wonderful pizza (thanks to his lovely mommy) and watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. Needless to say it was a wonderful day :)

My back to school date is approaching rapidly, but I think I'm finally getting to the point where I'm content with that. I've felt so idle since January and even though I'm ready to start fresh, I'm terrified to start fresh. This year determines so much for me in so many areas in my life. I had two break downs last week from all the stress I've been bottling up and it was rough. Very rough. I have so much to do in so little time it seems, but from now on I'm trying to give this a positive outlook and not worry so much about those things now. It's still summer and I still have time to spend with my friends, family, and boyfriend. It's amazing what prayer and faith can really do.

Productivity + yummy pizza :)

This week has been both lazy and productive! Here are a few pictures of what I did. My grandma gave me this old quilt she bought off of QVC the other day and now it is happily hugging my bedsheets. I was getting really sick of my old one, so I definitely needed a change. This one actually matches my stuff too. I usually go for the brightly colored quilts you see sometimes, and I actually found a perfect one when I went to the mountains a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately it was like... $100 and my mom talked me out of getting it :/ it was still very nice though. I've also been getting into old children's books (thanks to Ashley, Brandon's sister hehe). I've been absolutely DYING to find an old copy of Winnie the Pooh and I finally found one laying on a dusty shelf in this antique store in Greer. Talk about SNATCH! :) I think it was dated to about the early 1940's? It's in really nice shape!

I also splurged the other day on Etsy and bought this lovely dress from the 1950's, but sadly... it barely fits me. I was really gutted about it too. I'm thinking about taking it to this place that does alters but I don't know if they can really do anything about it since it is vintage fabric. Plus the cost might be a little pricy. Who knows... I might use it, but I am definitely not ready to give it away just yet. The way the girl packaged my dress though was really cute! She put a little doily on top of it with a little message saying thanks! I'll definitely have to remember all of these cute little details for when I open up my shop soon!

The other night boyfriend and I (well, mainly Brandon, I just did the woman's work) made these grilled pizzas and oh my gosh they were amazing. I couldn't finish mine, but it was totally devine. We just got this dough from Publix, added some of this fancy mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and fresh basil and man it was a perfect meal. My love can surely cook :) I also spent some much needed time with my best friend Leah, and then last night Brandon and I napped for a while and watched It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia (which is really growing on me btw)

Ahhh well tonight I'm going out with a few friends to celebrate our friend Shelby's 17th birthday! Yay! :) I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! xoxo

just some inspiration.

I recently discovered these two precious websites the other day that I think you should take a look at if you're in the mood to create! 1 & 2 :)

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday afternoon!

book crazy.

Hello! So as you all know, I'm pretty much obsessed with old books. On Saturday I went with my parents to this lovely book store called Mr. K's that my boyfriend's sweet sister introduced me to. It's a bargain book store located off of Lauren's Road in Greenville. If I had more time I would have stayed there longer seeing as they had tons of books ranging from old to new. I found three that I really liked and I honestly cannot wait to read them soon. :)
I've been pretty hooked to Etsy again lately. I promised myself I wouldn't go crazy and spend all my money on something I *know* I really don't need, but this caught my eye and I couldn't resist. I can't wait for it to come in the mail sometime this week! I'm slightly worried though if it will fit me. I usually can wear an XS-S-M, but it totally depends on the clothing, but not only that these are complete vintage threads and I don't own many vintage type dresses like this one. I'm crossing my fingers! I hope everyone has a lovely week!

that i absolutely love this boy?

he is more than anything i could ever ask for,

and for the first time in my life, i actually have found a safe place to land.

even if things have been tough the last few days, he has shown me so much patience and kindness.

summer song.

My parents and I had originally planned a trip to a flea market in Asheville, North Carolina, this past Saturday, but unfortunately we got to the flea market way to late and therefore did not stay long. However, I had the grand idea to visit the Biltmore Estate seeing as we were very close to it. I hadn't been in about a year and I brought my camera with me for some awesome photo opportunities. When I was little I always adored going there. I loved pretending to be a high aristocratic woman with my best friend in our british accents, prancing around as if we owned the place. It certainly is a magical house. This time I found the gardens to be my favorite part. So many pretty flowers and amazing photo opportunities. I wish Brandon and I could go and take pictures there... but the prices are outrageous. Thank god I still pass for 16 :P

Sooo nothing new has been going on really. Although I will admit I've been a little emotionally hurt lately (the joys of being a girl) I'm not sure why either. I'm usually always happy, always friendly, always in a really good mood... but I've been dreading my back to school date, the future, my classes, and pretty much everything revolving around school. Also, my faith has been having it's ups and downs. I haven't been to a church service in a while and it's partly because I sleep in very late. I also haven't been discipled in a while, but life has been getting in the way for me and my mentor. I feel like God is trying to tell me something as well... I'm just not sure how to answer Him/speak to Him about it. I do request prayer from those of you who read this though.

Hopefully I'll see brighter days. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the week. xoxo

Andy Lehman and The Night Moves.

This past Wednesday, Brandon and I went to an outdoor concert at Reedy River to see one of our favorite local bands, Andy Lehman and The Night Moves. It was a wonderful show and we were so happy to stop and talk to them for a few before they performed. I'm really glad it didn't rain though, but as soon as they finished their last song it was threatening to storm in the distance. We had a really good time :)

There hasn't been much going on lately. Just slow summer nights, cuddling, laughing, talking, some swimming, ipads, macs, movies, etc. Last night we did go see the premiere of 'Horrible Bosses' and boyfriend and I both agreed it was our favorite 'free' movie we've seen so far (he works at regal and they give him two free tickets every day.) So we both totally recommend that you go see it!

Tomorrow I'm going to a huge Flea Market in Asheville, NC, and I am hoping and praying I bring home plenty of vintage goodies to share with you all. I've been hunting a quilt as a new bedspread for my room because I really hate my current one. I'm so excited though I can barely contain it :)

my bedroom.

Hello! Today I've decided to share with you all some photos of my room. Granted these are all candid shots, I definitely couldn't resist showing off my progress. I think my favorite part of my entire room right now is my desk. I love the little corner with all my pretty books adorned in a row. As a late graduation present my grandma gave me two old books from the late 1800's to add to my collection. I'll have to post a picture soon, but if you go to my twitter account you'll see I've already done so :) So what are you all doing for July 4th? My parents and I decided to hang out in downtown Greenville to watch the fireworks. I wish boyfriend could come with me! Oh well. We'll be sure to do something fun this week to make up for it :) I hope you all have a wonderful July 4th week! xoxo
